What programmes do we offer? We currently offer two programs for postgraduates: our MSc in TSM (a one year taught Masters course), and our 4 year PhD (a combined course leading to both the MSc in TSM and PhD degrees, with full funding for eligible students). We also run a number of summer activities for undergraduates.

Who should apply for postgraduate study at the TSM-CDT? We are looking to recruit applicants who have or expect to obtain a first class degree in physics, applied mathematics, engineering, chemistry or materials science. You should have a strong aptitude for theory and mathematics, and we want you to bring a passion for cutting-edge research in areas of science and engineering including:

Why undertake postgraduate study at the TSM-CDT? The CDT approach aims to transform postgraduate teaching and research by placing more emphasis on training, collaboration, networking and transferable skills than the traditional PhD. Specific advantages of the TSM-CDT include:
