When to apply
Key Dates and Deadlines
The opening date for UCAS applications for admissions in October 2017 is 01 September 2016.
The deadline for submitting an application to the College will depend on the programme and other universities you are applying to:
- If you are applying to Oxford or Cambridge, as well as Imperial, you must apply by 15 October 2016
- If you are applying for at least one clinical programme, such as Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine, you must apply by 15 October 2016
- All other applications must be submitted by 15 January 2017
Please note if you are applying for a programme that requires you to take the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) you must have registered to take this test by 15 October 2016. We are unable to consider applicants to Medicine if you have not registered for the BMAT test.
If you submit your application by the above deadlines your application will be given equal consideration. If you submit your application after the deadlines, it is unlikely we will be able to consider your application. Applicants are advised to apply as early as possible and therefore we recommend you start researching your university choices well ahead of the deadlines, in order to give yourself time to submit a fully considered application. It is in the best interest of all applicants to apply well before the 15 January 2016 deadline. UCAS accepts that some late applicants, especially from outside the UK, may find this difficult. Late applications are accepted by UCAS throughout the remainder of the admissions cycle, but late applications will be considered by institutions at their own discretion, and there is no guarantee that they will be given the same level of consideration as applications that are submitted by the application deadlines.
Other Dates to Consider
If you are made an offer to study at Imperial College London, we need to receive evidence that you have met the academic condition of your offer by 21 August 2017. If you have been asked to take an English language test as part of your offer you will need to submit evidence you have met our English language requirements by 20 July 2017. If you have been asked to provide an ATAS certificate, you must have received your ATAS application from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) by 20 July 2017. We would strongly recommend you apply for your ATAS certificate well in advance of this deadline, and by the end of May at the latest. If you submit any of your offer conditions after these deadlines we have the right to revoke your offer. We strongly advise that you submit your offer conditions as soon as you meet them.
