MARS: Membership and Accredited Recognition Scheme

The Graduate school is working with professional bodies to align its provision to their requirements.

It has launched a scheme called MARS, Membership Accreditation and Recognition Scheme whereby postgraduate students can achieve Registered Scientist status or Chartered status.

Directors of the scheme are Dr Alastair McIntosh and Dr Janet De Wilde.

Currently the scheme is only open to postgraduate students in the chemistry department.

However we are working closely with Royal Society of Biology and the Institute of Physics.

To achieve this postgraduate students need to register with the scheme and record their attendance at Graduate School courses and their discipline work (master’s project or doctoral research work)

The graduate school courses that students need to attend are listed here for Master's and here for Doctoral Researchers.

Courses attended for the academic year 2015-2016 onwards are eligible.

To register on the scheme postgraduate students need to email to click on the following link, which will take you through to the SharePoint registration page and site.
