Applications are accepted all year round and assessed quarterly at the Rowing Scholarship Board Meetings.

The Imperial Boathouse on Putney Embankment houses over 80 racing boats, a well equipped gym, physiological testing equipment, club room, an in-house physiotherapy service, workshop and changing rooms. There is also accommodation on site.
A scholarship of up to £5000 will be awarded each year to students who can demonstrate potential and who have aspirations to reach national squad level.
Please note: students are chosen to live at the Putney Boathouse based on their rowing ability. Only students within the rowing scholarship programme are permitted to reside in the boathouse. The College does not accept applications for this residence.
Rowers will be of a sufficiently high standard with links/aspirations to national squad level. Rowing scholarships must accompany an Imperial College London recognised academic programme. Entry requirements for academic programs will be subject to demands of the academic department.
An illustrious history
Founded 12 December 1919, Imperial first won Henley Royal Regatta in 1923. Since then Imperial has won Henley Women’s Regatta six times, the Head of the River Race four times, Henley Royal Regatta twenty times, including the Grand Challenge Cup in 1996, and has had over fifty students represent Great Britain and win medals. Three Gold medallists and the coach from the men’s eight in the Sydney Games were from Imperial.
Sport Imperial's High Performance Programme is recognised and supported by the GB Rowing Team and funded through the National Lottery.
Sport Imperial in association with Imperial College Boat Club has a track record of coaching rowers to challenge for a place in the GB Rowing National Squads and is committed to Rowing's World Class Performace Strategy.
