The headquarters of arguably the most successful student rowing club is located at London’s Putney Embankment, a superb rowing location. With excellent facilities, including a state of the art gym, workshop, racking, club room, kitchen, physiotherapy and sports therapy services, coupled with outstanding coaching ensures that the Imperial College Boathouse continues to uphold and develop its longstanding successes and traditions. The boathouse has provided accommodation for students since 1938 and this completes the package for rowing excellence.
The Boat Club has a long record of success in events which include: the Henley Royal Regatta 2006 winners of the Prince Albert Challenge Cup; 2006 winners of the Remenham Challenge Cup; 2006 Single Scull winner and Senior Eight winners at Women's Henley; and at the BUSA Head of the River Race 2006, there were wins for both men and women in the coxed four and pairs. The Boat Club has continued to increased in size and stature over the years.
The Boat Club is open to all Imperial College students through membership of the Imperial College Union. The Boathouse gym, physiotherapy and sports therapy services are also open to Imperial College staff and members of the public.
High Performance Programme
Sport Imperial in association with Imperial College Boat Club has a track record of coaching rowers to challenge for a place in the GB Rowing National Squads and is committed to Rowing's World Class Performance Strategy.
