About the Centre
The Centre for Neurotechnology is hosted by Imperial College’s Institute of Biomedical Engineering. It aims to foster collaborative research at the interface of neuroscience and engineering across the Faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Natural Sciences, as well as with satellites at Oxford and the Crick Institute.
Brain-related illnesses affect more than two billion people worldwide, and the numbers are growing. This is having an increasing impact on healthcare resources. The challenge now is to find ways to reduce this burden on society.
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Neurotechnology for Life and Health offers a unique programme, created by Imperial College London in collaboration with 20 partners in industry and the charity sector, which will train a new generation of researchers across a range of disciplines. Working in cross-disciplinary teams at the interface of neuroscience and engineering, they will develop and harness new technologies for understanding and treating brain disorders.
