  • Professor Feizi, Dr Wengang Chai, Dr Angelina Palma and Dr Zhen Li attended 2016 Society for Glycobiology annual meeting, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

  • Professor Takeshi Tsubata, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, visited the group and gave a seminar entitled “Role of sulfation in the regulation of CD72 traffic and autoimmunity”.

  • Dr Yan Liu attended IBCarb event - 'How to commercialise your research and turn your glycoscience into a glyco-biotech start-up' held in the Great Park, Windsor.

  • Professor Jacques Le Pendu, director of the Center for Cancer Research of Nantes-Angers (CRCNA), France, visited the group and gave a seminar “Glycans in enteric virus infections: why the need for assignment of the ligands?”

  • Professor Feizi gave an invited lecture “The path to the development of glycan arrays as powerful tools in infection, immunity and cancer” at University of Kyoto, Japan.


22-26 August 2016

  • Professor Feizi attended the 7th MIRAGE Meeting 2016 and the 6th Charles Warren Workshop in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. An invited talk was given by Professor Feizi titled at the Warren Workshop entitled “Designer arrays for the pinpointing, isolation and structural assignments of natural glycan ligands of biological and medical importance”.

  • Professor Ola Blixt of the University of Copenhagen is now a Visiting Professor of Glyco-Chemistry associated with the Glycosciences Laboratory.

16-19 November 2014 

  • Professor Ten Feizi received the Rosalind Kornfeld Award for Lifetime Achievement in Glycobiology at the 2014 Joint Annual Meeting of the Society for Glycobiology (SFG) & Japanese Society of Carbohydrate Research (JSCR), and gave her award presentation entitled “How I became a glycobiologist and some of my favourite stories”.

  • Dr Yan Liu gave an invited talk at an IBCarb meeting ‘Glycobiology - Challenges & Solutions’ entitled “Glycan microarrays – Powerful tools for bio-recognition studies of glycans” at Imperial College London.


6-9 August 2014

  • 5th Charles Warren Workshop - Professor Feizi and Dr Yan Liu attended the 5th Charles Warren Workshop 2014, in Galway. An invited talk was given by Professor Feizi titled “The neoglycolipid (NGL)-based microarrays in their 12th decade”. Dr Yan Liu gave a short talk "The Importance of Glycan Ligand Density and Presentation for Binding by Viral Capsid Proteins in Carbohydrate Microarrays".


29-30 July 2014

  • IBCarb Workshop 'Glycan Microarrays 2.0'. Professor Feizi and Dr Yan Liu attended the workshop organised by IBCarb, one of 13 Networks in Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy (NIBB) funded by the BBSRC. They gave a joint talk “Carbohydrate  microarrays: current status and future prospects with synthetic glycans”.


18-21 June 2014

  • 9th International Symposium on Glycosyltransferases. Professor Feizi was invited to give a talk at the 9th International Symposium on Glycosyltransferases (Glyco-T 2014), with the title: “Oligosaccharide designer arrays reveal secrets of glycosyltransferases in the expression of the prostate cancer-associated antigen F77”.
