Imperial and External Connections

The Durrant Group is part of the Molecular and Materials Design research theme, one of the six research themes within the Department of Chemistry. It is also an active participant in Imperial's Centre for Plastic Electronics, one of the world's largest research centres addressing the science and engineering of printed electronic materials and devices.

Professor Durrant leads the UK's Solar Fuels Network, which promotes and supports an effective UK solar fuels research community, as well as Imperial's Artificial Leaf initiative. He is also co-ordinator of Imperial's Solar Network, as part of its Energy Futures Lab. The Network provides a focal point for the solar energy research community at the College cutting across departmental boundaries and raising awareness of Imperial solar energy research through events and seminars.

Alongside leading his research group at Imperial College, Professor Durrant leads the Sêr Cymru Solar initiative based at the SPECIFIC IKC, Swansea University, which compliments the more fundamental scientific studies of his group at Imperial College by addressing the technological development of printed photovoltaic devices.
