Visualising the Bitcoin Blockchain
MSc (Computing Science) student Dan McGinn has carried out an investigation into the visualisation of Bitcoin transactions for his individual project, uncovering a wealth of interesting transaction structures.
Gradbase (Runner up, 1st Imperial/EF Bitcoin Prize Fund)
A group of third year Computing project students (Cedric Colle, Alberto de Capitani, Kenneth Lindroos, Andrej Maris, Tomas Virgl and Kacper Zylka) has designed a way to embed and verify academic qualifications in the Bitcoin blockchain. Features custom QR codes which can be embedded in CVs for instant verification by employers and a Chrome Browser extension for Linked-in integration.
EquityBits (Winner, 1st Imperial/EF Bitcoin Prize Fund)
Electrical and Electronic Engineering student Fu Yong Quah has devised a way to manage and verify the share certificates of private companies in the Bitcoin blockchain.
Bitcoin Betting Exchange (Runner up, 2nd Imperial/EF Bitcoin Prize Fund and Winner, Best Final Year Project Presentation)
For his final year project, MEng Computing student Joshua Lind designed and developed an anonymous, yet accountable and auditable Bitcoin-based betting exchange with full functionality operating on the Bitcoin test net.
B-Till (Winner, 2nd Imperial/EF Bitcoin Prize Fund)
A group of MSc (Computing Science) students (Leila Sweidan, Adam Kent, Dan McGinn, Andrew Paine, Daniel Middlecote, Luke Parsons) has created a location-aware Bitcoin-based payments service which avoids queueing in pubs and restaurants - just sit down and use the B-Till app to order and pay for your food/drink and it will be brought to you at your table!
