Biofluids and Transport

Welcome to our group website. The primary focus of our research is the analysis of complex transport processes in biological and physiological systems using advanced numerical and computational methods such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). 

Current research topics include:

  • Nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery in cancer and thrombolytic therapies
  • Performance assessment of different medical devices
  • Predictive modelling of thrombosis in diseased blood vessels
  • Modelling of reverse osmosis and membrane separation processes
  • Rheological behaviour of biomass suspensions
  • Solid-liquid mixing in bioreactors for the production of fuels from energy crops
