The rapidly growing world population is putting an increasing demand on food production and security. To sustain and increase current levels of supplies in an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable manner we will have to:

  • Tap into the knowledge base of all disciplines and sectors to facilitate the cross-fertilisation of new multi-disciplinary research ideas and approaches.
  • Foster new new emerging tools and technologies that have the potential to tackle agri-sciences bottlenecks.
  • Enable the translation of research discoveries towards agri-sciences application.

The Agri-Futures Lab mission is to implement these goals by supporting the wide and diverse science base present in the faculties of Imperial College London, assisting the vibrant research community in their endeavours to tackle agri-sciences problems and engage with end-users and industry partners to convert research findings into prototypes and products.
