REF Review

In January 2016, the Government announced an independent review of the REF led by Lord Nicholas Stern to examine how university research funding can be allocated more efficiently so that universities can focus on carrying out world-leading research. A consultation ran from 27th January until 24th March where views were sought on the future shape of REF. The consultation document, along with the College’s response to the consultation can be accessed through the links below.

The responses to the consultation are currently being analysed by the review, reporting to the government in the summer.  The timing of the next REF has not yet been confirmed, but will be 2020 at the earliest.

Open Access (OA)

There will be an open access requirement for the next REF applying to all journal articles and conference papers accepted for publication from 1 April 2016.  More information can be accessed through the links below.
