To place a Telecoms order you need to contact the Telecoms Representative for your department, institute, division or faculty.

Orders will only be accepted from your designated Telecoms Representative. Telecoms Representatives can use the Telecoms Shop to place an order, once they have the right information. See below for the information your Telecoms Representative requires to place your order.

Information required by your Telecoms Representative for ordering purposes

A new telephone or extension or a change to an existing set up

Contact your Telecoms Representative and request one of the following:

  • The installation of an Imperial College London extension with or without a telephone.
  • A move or change to your existing extension location or set up (a change may include a change in Class of Service (CoS) or in display name).

For an installation provide the following information:

  • Whether an extension with a telephone or without is required.
  • When the work needs to be done by.
  • Who it is for.
  • What telephone model you would like, if required.
  • Whether voicemail is needed or not.
  • The CoS that is required.
  • The code on the socket where the extension is to be installed.
  • The location of the socket.

For a move provide the following information:

  • Who it is for.
  • The extension number.
  • The code on the current socket and its location (room and building).
  • The code on the desired socket and its location (room and building).

For a change provide the following information:

  • Who it is for.
  • The extension number.
  • The type of change (change in CoS or in display name).

For installations, relocations and changes on campuses supplied by NHS Trust Telecoms Departments (Charing Cross Campus with the exception of the Reynolds Building, Hammersmith Campus with the exception of IRDB, Levels 1, 3, 4 & 5 ICTEM (L-Block) and Burlington Danes Buildings and St Mary's Campus with the exception of Norfolk Place), please raise a Purchase Order on ICIS via your Deparmental Administrator. For installations, relocations and changes on all other medical campuses, contact the Hospital Switchboard by dialling 0 from a hospital telephone and ask for the Telecoms Department.

A new staff mobile, SIM card, dongle or mobile WiFi hub

‌To order a new staff mobile, SIM card, dongle or mobile WiFi hub, contact your Telecoms Representative with:

  • the recipient's name;
  • the name of the department;
  • the location of the recipient (room and building);
  • the College extension number;
  • the email address;
  • the make and model of mobile chosen.

A BT line for a freezer/lift auto-dialler, modem or a BT ISDN2 connection

To place an order for a BT line for a freezer/lift auto-dialler, modem or a BT ISDN2 connection, email your Telecoms Representative with the following details:

  • Type of installation required (A BT line for a freezer/lift auto-dialler, modem or a BT ISDN2 connection)
  • Location for the installation (the campus, building and room)
  • Whether access is restricted to this location or not and if yes, the details of the access restriction.
  • Who to contact for access to the location.
  • The account code to be billed for the installation and ongoing charges.
  • The code on the socket.
  • The required date of installation.

An Intercall Reservationless-Plus account

To order an Intercall Reservationless-Plus account contact your Telecoms Representative at least four working days in advance of the call.

You must give your Telecoms Representative the name and email address of the Chairperson (account holder).
