Protect College and personal information Students and staff are responsible for the security of personal information and devices and all Imperial College London data, devices, networks and systems that they access, share and use. You can be expelled or lose your job because of failing to protect information or abusing systems and there can even be legal repercussions. If you fail to protect information, you, your colleagues and the university could face real consequences.

Imperial has Information Systems Security Policies, so make sure  you are familiar with them. While these documents refer to all aspects of information management, the main aim is to set out guidance on information protection. Each department or division also has a local Data Protection Coordinator, who is your first point of contact for all of your data protection queries.
