Imperial is recognised worldwide for being at the forefront of education and research and, at the foundations of our academic excellence, our professional staff play an essential role. With this in mind, the Provost’s Board and Council agreed that Imperial should address the goal of achieving excellence in our academic support operations with a measure of urgency. Operational Excellence is the vehicle used to achieve our goal of excellence in academic support operations, reducing duplicated effort and tackling inefficient processes to deliver excellent, more effective services.

What We Do
Methods and Tools
Our methods and tools library will include guidance, principles, templates and examples of good practice for a wide range of activities you might undertake when designing and implementing improvements. We are in the process of developing this library. If you need any of the tools or templates please contact us using the link above.
Community of Practice
The Operational Excellence Community of Practice is a network of staff who, having attended the training, are interested in further developing their skills in the continuous improvement methods. Through the network, staff can share their experiences, gain peer support, and use their new skills in the field to contribute to Operational Excellence across the College.
