ornate gold and black chess board with gold queen and black bishop in focus on matching chessboard Strategic Asset Investments contains College’s shareholding in Imperial Innovations and other restricted investments.

This portfolio contains those equity holdings which have restrictions placed on their sale either by donors or by the College itself. The individual equities are managed with a view to maximising value within these restrictions.

When equities are received without any restrictions attached to them, or when the restrictions fall away, the shares are sold immediately and the proceeds are utilised in line with the original donors request (typically by investing in the Unitised Scheme to fund an academic activity).

The largest such equity holding is the College’s investment in Imperial Innovations. Council has judged this to be a Strategic Asset and so the Endowment Board makes recommendations to Council concerning this investment.
